Regulation 100 Amendment to paragraph 5

In paragraph 5 (prescriptions)—

(a)

in sub-paragraph (1)—

(i)

for “oral” substitute “verbal”;

(ii)

after “POM-VPS” insert “or a veterinary medicinal product prescribed under the cascade”;

(b)

after sub-paragraph (1) insert—

“(1A)

Where a veterinary medicinal product is supplied in accordance with a prescription which is not a written prescription, the person who prescribes the product must make a record of the reason for prescribing the product.

(1B)

A record made in accordance with sub-paragraph (1A) must be kept by the person mentioned in that sub-paragraph for a period of five years from the date on which the product is prescribed”;

(c)

after paragraph (3) insert—

“(4)

No person may submit a written prescription to a retailer on more than one occasion where the prescription is not repeatable.”.
