Article 17 New Towns Act 1981

Section 69(1) (Secretary of State’s accounts) of the New Towns Act 1981^f1 applies in relation to the exercise of functions under that provision by the Welsh Ministers, as if for “as the Treasury may direct” there were substituted “as the Welsh Ministers consider appropriate”.

The functions of the Secretary of State, so far as they are exercisable in relation to Wales, were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by article 2 of, and Schedule 1 to, the 1999 Order and are now exercisable by the Welsh Ministers by virtue of paragraph 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006.
