# The Drought Orders (Inquiries Procedure) Rules 1984, Article 2: Application of rules


These rules shall apply to public local inquiries and (except rule 4(3)) to hearings before a person appointed by the Secretary of State held under the provisions of paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 1 to the Drought Act 1976 for the purpose of inquiring into any application for a drought order or of hearing any person who has duly objected to such an application.
