# The Education Act 1996 (Amendment) Order 1996, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 17th December 1996
Laid before Parliament 20th December 1996
Coming into force 10th January 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by paragraph 10 of Schedule 17 to, and section 568(5) and (6) of, the Education Act 1996, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Order:
