# The Education Act 1997 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1997, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings section 1 of the Education Act 1997 (which provides for the extension of the assisted places scheme to schools providing only primary education) and an associated repeal into force on 4th April 1997.
