Article 7 Transitional provisions and savings

Despite the coming into force of section 49, and without prejudice to section 16(1) (c) of the Interpretation Act 1978^f1, sections 86(3) (b) and 91 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998^f2 (special arrangements to preserve religious character of foundation or voluntary aided school) are to continue to have effect in relation to a maintained school’s admission arrangements for any school year earlier than 2004 to 2005.
