  "text": "(1) Section 45 of SSFA 1998 (financing of maintained schools: maintained schools to have budget shares) is amended as follows.\n(2) In subsection (1A), omit “or” at the end of paragraph (b), and after paragraph (c) insert\n“, or\n(d) a pupil referral unit in England.”\n(3) In subsection (3)—\n(a) in paragraph (a), after “pupil referral units” insert “ in Wales ”;\n(b) after paragraph (a) insert—\n“(aa) references to the governing body of a maintained school or of a school maintained by a local authority shall be read, in relation to a pupil referral unit in England, as references to the management committee for the unit (in spite of paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Education Act 1996);\n(ab) references to governors shall be read, in relation to a pupil referral unit in England, as references to the members of the management committee for the unit;”.",
