# The Education (Bursaries for Teacher Training) (Amendment) Regulations 1995, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Education (Bursaries for Teacher Training) Regulations 1994 so as to take into account amendments made to Schedule 3 to the Education (Teachers) Regulations 1993 (S.I. 1993/543; the relevant amending instrument is S.I. 1995/602).
The definition of “course of initial teacher training” is amended so as to refer, in addition to such courses which are approved by the Secretary of State, to such courses at institutions which are accredited by the Teacher Training Agency or the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.
The Teacher Training Agency was established under section 1 of the Education Act 1994 (c. 30). The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales was established under section 62 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (c. 13).
