# The Education (Grammar School Designation) (Amendment) Order 1999, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st September 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 104(1) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and of the powers conferred by that section as it has effect by virtue of the Education (Substituted Grammar Schools) Regulations 1999 the Secretary of State for Education and Employment hereby makes the following Order:
