# The Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Initial Governing Instruments) Regulations 1993, Regulation 4: Provisions of the initial articles of government having effect on incorporation


(1) In the case of a governing body incorporated in pursuance of proposals for the establishment of a new grant-maintained school, the following provisions of the initial articles of government shall have effect from the incorporation date: Articles 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22, paragraph 2 of Appendix 1 and Appendix 2.
(2) In this regulation “the initial articles of government” is a reference to the initial articles of government set out in Schedule 2 to these Regulations;
“the incorporation date” means the date specified in the proposals for the establishment of a new grant-maintained school as the proposed incorporation date in relation to the school; and
“proposals for the establishment of a new grant-maintained school” shall be interpreted in accordance with section 22(2)(b) of the 1993 Act.
