# The Education (Grant-Maintained Special Schools) (Amendment) Regulations 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st October 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 344(2) and 569(1) and (2) of, and paragraph 14 of Schedule 28 to, the Education Act 1996, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
