Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Education (Individual Pupil Information) (Prescribed Persons) Regulations 1999.

The principal amendments are—

(a)

the substitution of paragraph (3) of regulation 3 with a new paragraph to enable information collators to additionally provide, at such times as the Secretary of State may determine, any prescribed person or any person falling within a prescribed category, with any of the information about individual pupils specified in the Schedule to the Education (Information about Individual Pupils) (England) Regulations 2001 and any information about the educational achievements of pupils in external qualifications approved under section 98 of the Learning and Skills Act 2000 for the purposes of section 96 of that Act (regulation 4(b));

(b)

the substitution of paragraph (4) of regulation 3 with a new paragraph to incorporate a number of additional persons to the list of prescribed persons (regulation 4(c)); and

(c)

the substitution of paragraph (5) of regulation 3 with a new paragraph to incorporate a number of additional prescribed categories (regulation 4(d)).
