# The Education Maintenance Allowance (Pilot Areas) Regulations 2001, Regulation 4: Residence condition

Extent: E+W

The condition specified in this regulation is—
(a) unless paragraph (b) or (c) applies, that a person responsible for the student was ordinarily resident in a relevant area on any date during the relevant period;
(b) where the student was an independent student, that the student was ordinarily resident in a relevant area on any date during the relevant period; or
(c) that the student was a looked after student at any time during the relevant period.
