# The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1987, Paragraph 4


(1) This paragraph shall apply, to the exclusion of paragraph 2 or 3, in the case of a student who is provided with board and lodging by the academic authority in accordance with arrangements under which charges for board and lodging are made only in the case of those students whose resources exceed their requirements (ascertained as provided in regulation 18).
(2) In the case of such a student the ordinary maintenance requirement shall be £862.
