# The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 27th February 1997
Coming into force 1st September 1997
The Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 4(2) of, and paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Education Act 1962, and by sections 3(1) and (3) of the Education Act 1973 hereby makes the following Regulations:—
