# The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1998, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 5th May 1998
Laid before Parliament 7th May 1998
Coming into force 1st September 1998
The Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 4(2) of, and paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Education Act 1962, and by sections 3(1) and (3) of the Education Act 1973 hereby makes the following Regulations:—
