# The Education (Mandatory Awards) Regulations 1999, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 26th May 1999
Laid before Parliament 28th May 1999
Coming into force 1st September 1999
The Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 4(2) of, and paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 1 to, the Education Act 1962, and by sections 3(1) and (3) of the Education Act 1973 hereby makes the following Regulations:–
