# Education Reform (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order amends Schedule 2 to the Education Reform (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 to add the compulsory contributory subject “Irish (in Irish speaking schools only) (A)” to the Language Studies Area of Study at key stages 3 and 4.
This Order comes into operation on 30th July 1998.
