Regulation 3 Amendment of the Education (School Information) (England) Regulations 1998

(1)

In regulation 3(1) (Interpretation), after the definition of “the 1998 Act” the following definition shall be inserted:

  • ““the 2000 Act” means the Learning and Skills Act 2000;”

In regulation 3(1), in the definition of “GCE ‘A’ level examinations” and “GCE ‘AS’ examinations”, after “supplementary”, the words “, or advanced subsidiary,” shall be inserted.

In regulation 3(1), after the definition of “GNVQ” the following definition shall be inserted:

  • ““IT Key Skills Unit” means a qualification known as such and approved by the Secretary of State under section 98 of the 2000 Act for the purpose of section 96 of that Act;”.

In regulation 3(1), after the definition of “unit”, the word “and” shall be omitted and the following definitions shall be inserted:

  • ““VCE” means a vocational certificate of education known as such and accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in accordance with its functions set out in section 24(2) of the Education Act 1997;

  • “vocationally-related qualification” means a qualification know as such and accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in accordance with its functions set out in section 24(2) of the Education Act 1997; and”.
