"text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations replace regulation 9 of the Education (School Performance Information) (England) Regulations 1999 (“the principal Regulations”) which relate to the collection and publication of information about the performance of schools.\nThe substituted regulation 9 requires the governing body of every maintained school to provide the information referred to in Schedule 4 of the principal regulations directly to the Secretary of State within two weeks of receiving a written request from him. This replaces the duty under the old regulation 9 to provide that information to the local education authority, and the authority’s duty to pass this on to the Secretary of State.\nThe substituted regulation preserves the duty on the proprietor of a non-maintained special school or an independent school to provide the same information to the Secretary of State.",
