# The Education (School Performance Targets) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2001, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Education (School Performance Targets) (England) Regulations 1998 so as to require targets to be set for pupils aged 15 for them to achieve five or more GCSE (or equivalent) grades including English and Mathematics. This replaces the previous requirement to set targets for one or more GCSE (or equivalent) grades.
