# The Education (School Premises) Regulations 1996, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st September 1996
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 10(1) of the Education Act 1944 and section 228(3)(a) of, and paragraph 14 of Schedule 11 and paragraph 3 of Schedule 18 to, the Education Act 1993, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
