# The Education (School Teachers' Prescribed Qualifications, etc) Order 2003, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 10th July 2003
Coming into force 1st August 2003
In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 122(5) and 210 of the Education Act 2002 and having consulted, in accordance with section 126 of that Act, such associations of local education authorities, such local education authorities, such bodies representing the interests of governing bodies of schools and such bodies representing the interests of teachers as appeared to him to be appropriate having regard to the contents of this Order, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills hereby makes the following Order:
