# The Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2021, Regulation 2: Amendment to the Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003


(1) The Education (School Teachers’ Qualifications) (England) Regulations 2003 are amended as follows.
(2) In regulation 3 (interpretation)—
(a) after the definition of “the Council” insert
““early years provider” has the meaning given by section 96(3) of the Childcare Act 2006;”;
(b) omit the definition of “institution”.
(3) In Part 1 of Schedule 2 (qualified teacher status requirements)—
(a) in paragraphs 7(1)(c)(i) and 10(3), for “institution” substitute “educational institution or early years provider”;
(b) in paragraph 11(3)(c), for “an institution” substitute “a further education institution or an institution within the higher education sector”;
(c) in paragraph 11(4)(c)—
(i) omit “, institution”;
(ii) for “establishment” substitute “institution or early years provider”.
