# Education (Scotland) Act 2025, Paragraph 4: Period and conditions of office

(1) The Chief Inspector holds and vacates office at His Majesty’s pleasure.
(2) The Scottish Ministers may determine the other terms and conditions on which the Chief Inspector is appointed.
