# The Education (Student Loans) Regulations 1998, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st March 1998
In exercise of the power conferred by section 1(2) and (7) of and paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 2 to the Education (Student Loans) Act 1990, the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, as respects England and Wales, and the Secretary of State for Scotland, as respects Scotland, hereby make the following Regulations:
