  "text": "For the purposes of this Chapter—\n(a) any reference to expenditure incurred for the purpose of attending an institution or period of study—\n(i) includes expenditure both before and after so attending; and\n(ii) does not include any expenditure in respect of which a grant is payable under Chapter 3 of this Part;\n(b) “expenses” means reasonable expenditure within or outside of the United Kingdom for the purpose of attending as part of a designated course an overseas institution or the Institute;\n(c) “qualifying quarter” means a quarter during which the eligible student attends as part of his course an overseas institution or the Institute for at least half the period covered by that quarter.",
