# The Education (Student Support) Regulations 2011, Regulation 1: Citation, commencement and application


(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Student Support) Regulations 2011 and come into force on 1st September 2011.
(2) These Regulations apply in relation to England .
(3) Subject to paragraph (4), these Regulations (other than regulations 3, 117 and 118) apply in relation to the provision of support to students in relation to an academic year which begins on or after 1st September 2012 whether anything done under these Regulations is done before, on or after 1st September 2012.
(4) In relation to higher education courses that begin on or after 1st January 2027, these Regulations only apply for the purposes of Part 12 of these Regulations (support for postgraduate students with disabilities).
