  "text": "(1) A ... 2009 , 2012 or 2016 cohort student qualifies for a long courses loan in connection with the student's attendance on a designated course if the student—\n(a) qualifies for a loan for living costs under this Part;\n(b) is required to attend the course for a period exceeding 30 weeks and 3 days in an academic year; ...\n(c) is not a student with reduced entitlement; and\n(d) is not a 2016 cohort student who meets the conditions set out in regulation 71(1)(i).\n(2) The maximum amount of the long courses loan isX+Y where—\nX is calculated in accordance with paragraph (3),\nY is calculated in accordance with paragraph (4);\n(3) Where a ... 2009 , 2012 or 2016 cohort student is required to attend a course for a period exceeding 30 weeks and 3 days in an academic year, the number of weeks or part weeks of attendance in the academic year beyond 30 weeks and 3 days is multiplied by the relevant amount in paragraph (5);\n(4) Where a ... 2009 , 2012 or 2016 cohort student attends a course for a period of not less than 45 weeks in any continuous period of 52 weeks, the total number of weeks in the 52-week period during which the student does not attend is multiplied by the relevant amount in paragraph (5);\n(5) The amount is—\n(a) for a student in category A, £77;\n(b) for a student in category B, £149;\n(c) for a student in category C, £161;\n(d) for a student in category D, £116.\n(6) Subject to paragraph 6A, a deduction from the amount of long courses loan calculated in accordance with this regulation may be made in accordance with Part 8.\n(6A) Paragraph (6) does not apply in relation to a long courses loan for an eligible care leaver.\n(7) For the purposes of calculating the maximum amount of the long courses loan, a student’s attendance on a pre-registration course or a postgraduate pre-registration course includes any time the student is required to spend, as part of that course, undertaking clinical training at a hospital or other premises.",
