# The Education Support Grants Regulations 1990, Paragraph 18


The training of teachers in schools to improve pupils' use and understanding of the English language, with particular reference to the recommendations of the report of the Committee of Inquiry into the Teaching of English Language appointed by the Secretary of State for Education and Science under the chairmanship of Sir John Kingman, published by Her Majesty’s Stationery Office in March 1988.
