  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations, which apply in relation to England, authorise the Secretary of State to make grants to institutions providing various courses or placements to facilitate and encourage the training of a person as a teacher. Such grants may only be paid in respect of expenditure incurred by the institutions in providing bursaries to such a person undertaking, or proposing to undertake, such courses or placements. The payment of grant is dependent on any further conditions imposed by the Secretary of State.\nThese Regulations also revoke the Education (Teacher Training Bursaries) (England) Regulations 2001 (S.I. 2001/2622).",
