  "text": "The Education (Teachers) Regulations 1989 shall be amended as follows–\n(a) For paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 there shall be substituted the following paragraph–\n“2 Any prohibition or restriction on a person’s employment in force immediately before 1st September 1989 which–\n(a) is contained in a direction under regulation 10 of the 1982 Regulations, or\n(b) has effect, by virtue of paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to those Regulations, as if so contained\nshall have effect as if it were contained in a direction under regulation 10(2) of these Regulations and, accordingly, regulation 10(6) shall apply in relation thereto.”\n(b) In paragraph 5(3)(a)(ii) of Schedule 4 after the words “in more than one school” there shall be added the words “maintained by the same local education authority”.\n(c) In paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 5 the word “if” shall be deleted where it first appears and inserted at the beginning of sub-paragraph (a).\n(d) The last sentence of paragraph 2(3) of Schedule 5 shall be deleted.",
