# The Education (Teachers) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1989, Regulation 2


The Education (Teachers) Regulations 1989 shall be amended as follows–
(a) For paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 there shall be substituted the following paragraph–
“2 Any prohibition or restriction on a person’s employment in force immediately before 1st September 1989 which–
(a) is contained in a direction under regulation 10 of the 1982 Regulations, or
(b) has effect, by virtue of paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to those Regulations, as if so contained
shall have effect as if it were contained in a direction under regulation 10(2) of these Regulations and, accordingly, regulation 10(6) shall apply in relation thereto.”
(b) In paragraph 5(3)(a)(ii) of Schedule 4 after the words “in more than one school” there shall be added the words “maintained by the same local education authority”.
(c) In paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 5 the word “if” shall be deleted where it first appears and inserted at the beginning of sub-paragraph (a).
(d) The last sentence of paragraph 2(3) of Schedule 5 shall be deleted.
