# The Eggs (Wales) Regulations 2022, Introduction: Introductory text

The Welsh Ministers make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 50(3) and paragraph 16(1) of Schedule 5 to, the Agriculture Act 2020.
As required by Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety there has been open and transparent public consultation during the preparation of these Regulations.
In accordance with section 50(6)(c) of, and paragraph 16(5) of Schedule 5 to, the Agriculture Act 2020, a draft of this instrument has been laid before and approved by a resolution of Senedd Cymru.
