# The Electoral Registration Pilot Scheme Order 2014, Article 3: Interpretation

Extent: E+W+S

(1) In this Order—
“area” means an area which is—
(a)in England, a district or London borough;
(b)in Wales, a county or county borough;
(c)in Scotland, a local government area;
and which is specified in the Schedule;
“Lord President” means the Lord President of the Council.
(2) In articles 4(1), (3) and (4) and 5(1) references to a person acting on the Lord President’s behalf are to a person appointed by the Lord President with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport and the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.
