# The Electricity (Standards of Performance) (Amendment) Regulations 2002, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st April 2002
The Gas and Electricity Market Authority in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 39, 39A, 39B, 40B, 42A and 60 of the Electricity Act 1989 and after consultation with the Gas and Electricity Consumer Council, persons authorised to supply electricity under section 6(1)(c) and 6(2) of the Electricity Act 1989 as in force prior to 1 October 2001 and with persons and bodies appearing to be representative of persons likely to be affected by the Regulations, after considering the results of research to discover the views of a representative sample of persons likely to be affected, and with the consent of the Secretary of State in accordance with sections 39(1) and 39A(1) of the Electricity Act 1989, makes the following Regulations—
