# The Electronic Communications and Wireless Telegraphy Regulations 2011, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 5th May 2011
Coming into force 26th May 2011
The Secretary of State is designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to electronic communications.
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act.
