# The Electronic Communications (Universal Service) (Costs) (Amendment) Regulations 2021, Introduction: Introductory text


This Statutory Instrument has been made in consequence of a defect in S.I. 2020/545 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Instrument.

Coming into force 24th December 2021
The Office of Communications (“OFCOM”), in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 71(4), 71(5), 71(7), 71(9) and 403(7) of the Communications Act 2003, makes the following Regulations.
Before making these Regulations, OFCOM have given notice of their proposal to do so in accordance with section 403(4)(a) of the Act, published notice of their proposal in accordance with section 403(4)(b) of the Act, and have considered the representations made to them before the time specified in the notice in accordance with section 403(4)(c) of the Act.
