# The Energy Act 1976 (Reserve Powers) Order 2000, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order declares that the powers of control by order and government directions contained respectively in sections 1 and 2 of the Energy Act 1976 are exercisable to their fullest extent because there is imminent in the United Kingdom a threatened emergency affecting fuel supplies.
