  "text": "In this Part—\n“carbon dioxide stream” means a flow of substances that results from carbon dioxide capture processes;\n“CMA” means the Competition and Markets Authority;\n“contravention”, in relation to any direction, condition, requirement, regulation or order, includes any failure to comply with it and cognate expressions are to be construed accordingly;\n“the data protection legislation” has the same meaning as in the Data Protection Act 2018 (see section 3 of that Act);\n“economic regulator” has the meaning given by section 1(2);\n“enactment” includes—\n(a) an enactment contained in subordinate legislation (as defined in section 21 of the Interpretation Act 1978);\n(b) an enactment contained in, or in an instrument made under, a Measure or Act of Senedd Cymru;\n(c) an enactment contained in, or in an instrument made under, an Act of the Scottish Parliament;\n(d) an enactment contained in, or in an instrument made under, Northern Ireland legislation;\n(e) any retained direct EU legislation;\n“final order” has the meaning given by section 31(4);\n“financial year” means a financial year of the economic regulator;\n“functions” includes powers and duties;\n“geological formation” means a lithostratigraphical subdivision within which distinct rock layers can be found and mapped;\n“geological storage”, in relation to carbon dioxide, means storage of carbon dioxide streams in underground geological formations with a view to the permanent containment of carbon dioxide (and references to geological storage are to be read as including injection);\n“grantor” has the meaning given by section 9(10);\n“licence”, except where the context otherwise requires, means a licence under section 7, and “licence holder” is to be interpreted accordingly;\n“licensable activities” has the meaning given by section 1(10);\n“licensable means of transportation” has the meaning given by section 2(3);\n“modifications” includes additions, alterations and omissions and cognate expressions are to be construed accordingly;\n“operates”, in relation to a site for the geological storage of carbon dioxide, is to be interpreted in accordance with section 2(10);\n“provisional order” has the meaning given by section 31(4);\n“transport and storage network” has the meaning given by section 1.",
