# The Energy Information Regulations 2011, Paragraph 1: Market surveillance authority

Extent: E+W+S+NI

The market surveillance authority may impose a requirement upon a person to comply with a compliance notice, a stop notice, an enforcement undertaking or to pay a variable monetary penalty or non-compliance penalty (a “civil sanction”) as set out in this Schedule.
