  "heading": "Relationship with existing licensing legislation",
  "text": "(1) This Chapter does not prevent the exercise of any other power or duty of a licensing authority to—\n(a) grant,\n(b) suspend,\n(c) revoke, or\n(d) renew,\na regulated licence in a way that is consistent with provision made by or under this Chapter (which includes refusing to grant, suspending, revoking, or refusing to renew a licence when not required or authorised to do so by that provision).\n(2) Before section 37 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n36A The provisions of this Act relating to the licensing of hackney carriages are subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”\n(3) After section 45 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n45A This Part is subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”\n(4) After section 2 of the London Hackney Carriages Act 1843 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n2A This Act is subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”\n(5) After section 2 of the Metropolitan Public Carriage Act 1869 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n2A This Act is subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”\n(6) After section 1 of the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n1A This Act is subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”\n(7) After section 1 of the Plymouth City Council Act 1975 insert—\n“Licensing: national standards and temporary suspension\n1A This Act is subject to Chapter 3 of the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 (which makes provision about national standards for licences and the temporary suspension of licences).”",
