# The English Non-metropolitan Districts (Definition) Order 1972, Article 2: Interpretation


(1) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the interpretation of this order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
(2) In this order—
“the Act” means the Local Government Act 1972;and
“the Secretary of State” means the Secretary of State for the Environment.
