# The Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002, Article 18: Financial assistance

Extent: N.I.

(1) The Department may make grants or loans to any body or person for the purposes of or in connection with—
(a) carrying out an air quality review;
(b) carrying out an assessment under Article 11 ...;
(c) preparing and implementing an action plan; and
(d) the assessment or management of the quality of air.
(2) Grants or loans made by the Department under this Article—
(a) shall be of such amounts; and
(b) shall be made on such terms and conditions (including in the case of grants, conditions as to repayment),
as may be determined by the Department.
