# The Equality Act 2010 (Age Exceptions) Order 2012, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st October 2012
This Order is made in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 197(1) and 207(4) and (6) of the Equality Act 2010.
In accordance with section 208(2) and (8) of that Act, a draft of this Order has been laid before and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament.
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of those powers:
