Section XVII Sheriff returning without Six Days Summons, or excusing for Reward; Penalty £10.

And be it further enacted That noe Sheriff or Bailiff of any Liberty or Franchise or any of their or either of their Ministers shall returne any such Person or Persons as aforesaid to have been summoned by them or any of them unlesse such Person and Persons shall have been duely su[m]moned by the space of Six days att the least before the day on which they ought to make their appearance nor shall directly or indirectly take money or other Reward to excuse the appearance of any Juror by any of them to be sumoned or returned upon paine to forfeit for every such Offence the su[m]m of Ten Pounds to their Majesties their Heirs and Successors.
