Article 1

This Decision shall apply to equipment which is intended to be connected as a single terminal via a two-wire access to an analogue PSTN line at the network termination point and falls within the scope of the harmonised standard identified in Article 2(1).

This Decision establishes a common technical regulation covering the attachment requirements for analogue PSTN terminal equipment referred to in paragraph 1. This Decision does not cover requirements relating to the interworking of terminal equipment via the public telecommunications network, as specified in Article 5(g) of Directive 98/13/EC.
