# Commission Decision of 30 May 2002 concerning the technical specification for interoperability relating to the rolling stock subsystem of the trans-European high-speed rail system referred to in Article 6(1) of Directive 96/48/EC (notified under document number C(2002) 1952) (Text with EEA relevance) (2002/735/EC), Appendix ANNEX P: LINE VOLTAGE

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

The characteristics of the main traction voltage systems (with the exception of over-voltages) are described in detail in the following table:
Nominal voltages and their acceptable limits in value and in duration.
The duration of voltages between U min1 and U min2 shall not exceed two minutes.
The duration of voltages between U max1 and U max2 shall not exceed five minutes.

The voltage of the collection bar in the substation including the line circuit breakers shall not exceed U max1,
voltages, in normal operating conditions, have to stay in the range between U min1 and U max2,
when operating conditions are interrupted, voltages in the range U min1 to U min2 are acceptable.
Relationship U max1/U max2
Every occurrence of U max2 must be followed by a level not exceeding U max1 for an indefinite duration.
Lowest tension of service
When the operating conditions are interrupted, U max2 will be the lower voltage limit for the air breakers when trainsets can run.
Note:
Values recommended for under-voltage tripping.
The under-voltage breakers with fixed or adjustable trips can be adjusted for values between 85 % and 95 % of U min2.
