Commitments to grant trade mark licences in nine countries of the European Economic Area (Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark and Greece) were given as a condition for the authorisation of the transaction in those countries. The commitments were set out in the Commission’s Decision of 8 January 2002 and provided in particular for the granting of an exclusive licence to sell household electrical appliances under the Moulinex trade mark for a period of five years covering the 13 categories of products mentioned in the Decision, and the commitment not to market products bearing the Moulinex trade mark in the countries concerned during the term of the licence and for a further period of three years following the expiry of the licence.
