Division 1.1 The general objective of the national control programmes shall be the verification of compliance with applicable legislation concerning:

quantitative restrictions on the retention on board, landing, marketing and transport of catches of cod and associated species as provided for in Regulation (EC) No 423/2004;

logbooks, landing declarations, sales notes and prior notices of landing, including in particular verifying the reliability of the information recorded;

general technical conservation measures and specific technical measures for fishing for cod and associated species, as provided for in Commission Regulation (EC) No 2056/2001^f1.
